Great Trials Produce Great Entrepreneurs

Written by Susan Jenks | 18 October, 2022

We often hear about people who have become successful after enduring great trials. Many times, these trials are what define them as entrepreneurs. These individuals usually have a story of overcoming great adversity that resulted in making them stronger and more determined. The pressure to succeed forces them to find a way to make things happen, no matter what the cost. In this blog post, we will explore the idea that great trials create great entrepreneurs. We will look at the character traits that are revealed during difficult times, and how they can help you succeed in business!

As an entrepreneur, you will no doubt face many challenges. Some of these challenges may seem insurmountable, but it is important to remember that they are only temporary. You must maintain your focus and determination in order to overcome them. It is during these times that your true character is revealed. The true test of a person isn't who they are when things are going their way, but who they are when everything is going wrong. Do you give up when things get tough? Or do you find a way to push through and come out stronger on the other side?

Adversity can actually be a great teacher. It can help you learn more about yourself and what you are capable of achieving. When everything is going wrong, it forces you to think outside the box and find new solutions. This process of problem-solving is essential for any entrepreneur. Without it, businesses would quickly fail.

Improvise, adapt and overcome.

These three words are the foundation of problem-solving and are pivotal to the process of becoming a successful entrepreneur. When you first encounter a problem, don’t let it discourage your plan. Instead, train your thinking and perspective to consider it an opportunity to learn. Embrace the challenge to improvise, adapt, overcome, and use it to your advantage!

Improvise.

This word is often used in the business world, but what does it actually mean? To improvise means to come up with something on the spot, without any prior planning. This skill is essential for entrepreneurs because it allows them to adapt to new situations and come up with solutions on the fly. In business, things are constantly changing. What worked yesterday may not work today. To be successful, you must be able to adjust to these changes quickly, sometimes with a realization that a solution may not be perfect upon first release. It's important to be flexible and open-minded, while still staying true to your core values.

And, there can always be a 2.0.

Adapt.

In order to succeed in business, you must be adaptable. This means being open to change and willing to adapt your plans according to the situation. The world of business is constantly changing, and those who are able to adapt quickly will be the most successful. If you find yourself struggling to adapt, it may be time to reevaluate your business goals. Are they still relevant? Do they need to be updated? Do your research, be creative and think outside the box. This is often when the best solutions are found. The next time you are confronted with a problem, take a deep breath and step back to gain perspective. And, don't be afraid to phone a teammate or friend for their perspective.

Overcome.

The last word, and perhaps the most important, is overcome. This means to persevere through difficult times; to conquer or surmount something, usually with effort. It is during these trials that we learn the most about ourselves and what we are capable of achieving. When you are an entrepreneur, you will face many challenges. Some of these obstacles may appear to be unachievable, yet it is critical to remember that they are only short-term. You must keep your focus and determination in order to overcome them. It's at this time that your real character emerges. The harsh reality is that we only know what we are really made of as we endure great trials. Pressure reveals the inner character to the outside world. Channel your inner strength and use it to push. This can be incredibly difficult, especially when you are under pressure. However, it is a skill that can be learned and perfected with practice.

Great entrepreneurs are not born, they are made.

They are forged in the fires of adversity and come out stronger on the other side. The pressure to succeed can be intense, but it also has the ability to reveal your inner strength and character. So, the next time you are facing a difficult situation, remember that it is an opportunity to learn and grow. Use it as a chance to show the world what you are made of. Use your adversity to fuel your drive to succeed. No matter how difficult a situation may be, always remember that you have the power to overcome it. This doesn’t mean that the journey will be easy, but it does mean that you have what it takes to get through it. Embrace the challenge and use it to make you a better entrepreneur!

If you can adapt, improvise and overcome challenges that come your way, you will be well on your way to becoming a successful entrepreneur.
