If You Can Use Social Media OR EMAIL You Can Build an App | InspireHUB

You're More Techie Than You Think

Do you ever use any social media? What about sending email? Chances are that you don't even give it a second thought these days as you post your content, create messages and engage with the world around you. Most people who use social media have never spent time thinking about building the technology behind it for themselves. That's because someone else invested the millions to take something really complicated and make it simple for you to use and enjoy.  At InspireHUB, we believed that just like anyone can send a message or use social media that anyone should also have the power to build an app.

If you ever dreamed of making your own app here's some tips about how you can make that happen - today!

Tip 1: You don't need to replace what is already working.

It is a huge online world out there and there's a high likelihood you've found a number of tools that you use to engage with all your different tribes.  For example, if you want to integrate video into your app you don't have to become Youtube or Vimeo to do so.  You can integrate existing enterprise-grade platforms into your own app.  You get the added advantage and benefit of using a mature technology without the added costs of having to build out that entire feature yourself!

Tip 2: Determine your WHY then consider WHAT.

You have identified that you need an app. Whether it is for your company to better engage employees, your club and it's members, or for your GREAT BIG AWESOME business idea! Many people make the mistake of thinking they will need to build the technology themselves and find developers to specifically code your idea which can be very expensive. Depending on WHY you actually need an app you may be able to license the IHUBApp technology for your engagement purposes. Before you invest a huge amount of money in building your app you need to determine WHY you need this as this will lead you to the technology you actually need.

Tip 3: It should be simple.

If your goal is to engage your TRIBE then it also means that it needs to be really simple for them to get your app, use your app, and engage your app. It also means those tasked with updating your app can do so simply and easily. Making content updates to your app should be as easy as updating your social media and email.  If you want to add a new channel it should be as simple as a few clicks. If you look at the system you are handed and it feels overwhelming it is likely complicated.  A well-designed system is intentionally underwhelming. You should look at the dashboard and intuitively know where to go without training.

Tip 4: You are an engagement machine. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

How much email did you respond to today in-between visiting your various social media sites while also watching your newsfeeds and taking phone calls? You already know how to do engagement. The IHUBApp takes everything that you already do intuitively and brings it all together simply for you and your tribe. We have made it simple to engage by leveraging what you already know and love. You can bring all your favorite tools together and save time and money as you increase your engagement.

Tip 5: You are far more technical than you think.

Everyday you are already engaging with the world around you and learning new technologies. Do you remember the first time you held an iPod? What about the first time you went on Netflix? How long did it take for you to get it? A well designed technology means that even though it is "new" you can still begin using it easily. You engage with technology every single day and if you can update social media, send texts, reply to emails and more - then you can confidently create an app for your organization!
